Cable snapped and door was stuck halfway open. They came out pretty quick (about 2 hours). Replaced both cables even though only one broke. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is they were about 30 min late, but they called ahead.

New door installation for our home in Fairlawn. They helped us select a style that matched our neighborhood and the installation was perfect. Very professional crew.
Opener stopped working completely. They diagnosed it as a bad circuit board and had a replacement part on the truck. Fixed same visit. Happy with the quick turnaround.

Local Questions
Frequently Asked Questions About Garage Door Service in Akron
My Highland Square home was built in the 1930s. Do you have experience with older door systems? +
Yes — Highland Square and Firestone Park are two of our most common service areas in Akron, and both have a lot of homes from the 1920s through 1950s with original or early-replacement garage door hardware. We stock parts for older torsion spring assemblies, extension spring systems, and vintage track configurations. If we can't source an exact part, we can usually adapt a modern equivalent that works with the existing door.
What garage door styles work well with the bungalow homes common in Firestone Park and Ellet? +
Short-panel and carriage-style doors work best with Akron's classic bungalow and craftsman homes. Flush steel doors tend to look out of place on pre-war construction. We can show you options that complement the architectural character of the home — raised-panel wood or steel with decorative hardware, or overlay carriage-style doors that look traditional but operate like modern doors. We do a lot of this work in Firestone Park, Ellet, and the West Hill neighborhoods.
How does Akron's temperature range — hot summers to cold winters — affect my garage door springs? +
Wide temperature swings are harder on springs than steady cold. Metal expands in summer heat and contracts in winter cold, which fatigues the spring material over time. Akron regularly sees 90°F summers and single-digit winters, which is among the more extreme ranges in Ohio. We recommend high-cycle springs (rated 20,000+ cycles) when replacing in Summit County — the extra durability is worth the modest cost difference, especially on doors used multiple times daily.
I have a low garage ceiling (about 7 feet). Are there opener options that will work? +
Yes. Standard opener rails need about 10–12 inches of clearance above the door. If your ceiling is 7 feet, you have two good options: a low-headroom conversion kit that mounts the opener differently to reduce the clearance needed, or a jackshaft/wall-mount opener that mounts beside the door entirely and requires no overhead clearance at all. Low ceilings are common in Akron's older housing stock and we handle this regularly.
My wooden garage door from the 1980s is warping. Should I repair it or replace it? +
A few warped panels can sometimes be addressed with reinforcement struts bolted horizontally across the door sections, which pulls the panel back flat. But if the door has multiple warped sections, the wood is rotting, or the warping is severe enough to cause sealing or operation problems, replacement is usually the more economical long-term choice. Akron's climate is tough on untreated wood. We can assess the door and give you an honest recommendation.
Do you serve Cuyahoga Falls and Stow as part of Akron service, or separately? +
Cuyahoga Falls and Stow are included in our Summit County service area — same technicians, same response times, same pricing as Akron proper. The same applies to Hudson, Barberton, Tallmadge, Green, and Fairlawn. You don't need to call a separate number.
